Leaving toddler at home

I had a baby a few days ago and he isn't very well so we have to stay in the hospital for a week or two. This is obviously very stressful but my main worry is my lovely little girl who is at home without me. My husband and MIL are looking after her and she seems happy but I'm so worried that she thinks I've just abandoned her and I miss her so, so much. He is going to bring her to play in the children's room with me every day for 90 mins or so but any reassurance that she'll be OK would be gratefully received. X

Of course she'll be fine. I think it's probably tougher on you, than her. She'll be having a great time with your DH and MIL (being spoilt rotten!). I'd just try to focus on your little baby and your recovery.

Yes, she'll be fine. And any change in behaviour when you do see her is probably down to the change having a new sibling brings rather than you being away. Don't worry. You have enough in.

She'll be fine. I think it's probably your hormones filling you with emotions about the situation. Totally understandable! A family member of ours went to prison for 18 months and her toddler missed her terribly but they are as close as ever now she's out.

Exactly the same happened with my toddler when I had my second baby. She was absolutely fine..think she found it all quite exciting TBH .Congratulations. 💐

Hormones talking OP. She’ll be fine, just focus on what you need to do now and you’ll both be home soon and can start to settle in properly as a family of four.

Congratulations Flowers

Of course she’ll be fine! She’s got lots of people who love her taking care of her!!

She’s being looked after (and probably spoiled), so is fine. Look after yourself and concentrate on your baby. You are seeing her everyday.
