Strawberry birthmark at 10 weeks??

Hey all, my daughter is 10 weeks old and has a strawberry birthmark on her stomach which came up around 2 weeks old , today I noticed a tiny red spot under her eye , it’s not a scratch or a pimple and I’m worried it might be another strawberry birthmark appearing on her face , the one on her belly is very red, bumpy and raised and I’d hate her to be stared at and bullied for one on her face , is it possible for a strawberry mark to appear at 10 weeks?

Hello OP,

Yes my son had a strawberry nevus develop on his back a few weeks after he was born - it grew quite large as he got bigger - the GP told me that by the time he was 5 it would be gone and it’s already very faint now. If I look back at photos it was really obvious and it’s hard to believe he had it looking at him now !

I’m not sure. But my dd had a raspberry mark on her back. It disappeared by the time she was 2.
It’s easy day but try not to worry. If you are worried have a chat with your gp/midwife.

I think it could develop this late, as PP says small ones will most likely fade by about 5. If there is one close to the eye it could be problematic if it grows. There are treatments available for problematic haemangiomas, so keep an eye on it and see if it grows. Be aware that GPs and health visitors aren't always the best informed, but if not satisfied with their response you may be able to direct contact with a specialist via the birthmark support group on Facebook.
