So, background is, my stepson lives with us full time now due to very serious things happening to him at his mothers (don't want to go into detail) he sees his mother once a week not overnight (her choice) we was called by her social worker a couple weeks ago saying that she now has a new partner and that the partner isn't allowed to be around any children (don't know why, they wouldn't give any more details that that) but she did tell us if my SS ever comes home and says he's been in contact with him then to stop contact immediately and inform them. So he came home on Thursday and told me and his dad he had been in contact with him. However the social worker is off on annual leave, so can't get hold of her. Obviously we will stop contact as advised but my issue is what do we tell his mother? Don't know whether to tel her why (don't want to give her the chance to cook up a cover up story) or do we make something else up until we get hold of the social worker?
