Hi first time mum! My little girl is now 1 month old. I’m really struggling with her sleep of a night! She will have her last bottle around 11-11:30pm and then sleep until about 2-2:30am. She then wake for a bottle fall asleep in my arms but as soon as her back touches the next to me she wakes! I’ll leave her to see if she settles but she doesn’t resulting in me picking her up and cuddling until she settles and then we repeat the process until we reach 4am-ish when she’ll still be awake and it’s time for her next feed the the same process. Im just wondering if this is normal? I of course was expecting sleepless nights but I wasn’t expecting her to be this unsettled throughout the night. Is this something she will grow out of with time I am aware she is still very young I suppose I’m just looking for some reassurance that I’m not the only one!

I must say she is a great little napper in the day sleeps in her sleepyhead and settles well!

Very normal for such a young baby. Still in the 4th trimester and therefore normal for to want to be held all the time. It is exhausting though. Do you have a partner who can do shifts so you can get a a longer stretch of sleep? It will get better xx

This is very normal and yes it is something she will most likely grow out of in time.

Look up the fourth trimester, you are all she has known. You are safe, you are warm, you are familiar.

Thank you! I knew it was probably completely normal I’ve never heard of the 4th trimester before just had a read and makes so much sense! It’s hard obviously people tell you about the lack of sleep but you can’t be really prepared for it until she’s here! She’s so worth it though! Thank you! X
