Which waterproof sheet?

What sort of waterproof sheets are best? Also (and this may sound a strange question) but how do you wash them if they've got plastic in them? Any advice gratefully received.

I have 2 .. one has a terry cover and the other is just the plasticy stuff

TBH it doesn't really make any difference which you use (they both make a similar crunchy sound)

They're also machine washable at 40

I have one from Boots which is just a large square. You put it over/under your normal sheet. Is washable and can be tumble dried so can be quickly returned to position. Quite expensive at £15 but it is good. Plus no crinkly noise either.

It was recommended by my friend. So far I have only had to remove it - not the sheet as well when accidents occur. I have it on top of sheet.

IME the best ones are from la redoute here - plastic back, flannelette front, full single-bed size, can wash at 90 degrees and tumble dry.

Go to interieurs, then fitted sheets, then track through looking for flat mattress covers (some are not waterproof!) The flannelette ones (elastic strips on corners so easy to fit) are £12-£14. Check the sizes as they start at "narrow bunk" and include some weird continental ones.

Urchin.co.uk do these brilliant ones. They're not at all plastic'y, and feel more like thick flanelette. They're much better than the plastic ones which can make littl'uns a bit sweaty especially in the summer.

(They're at the bottom of the page, and there's a small one or a big one).

I shall definitely be buying a second one for my other son when he moves to a bed.
