Hi,
Everyone told me once he started weaning things would get better! I started giving purees every second day when he turned 5 months, hes always been a little gassy but nothing as drastic as he is now. Since hes turned 6 months and I've tried giving purees daily (past two/3 weeks) hes having trouble sleeping at night, waking up crying as he has to pass wind from below. He is pooping everyday or every second day as normal. I've tried gripe water and infacol etc but nothings helping and GP is just saying its his body adjusting but he wakes up in tears and cries for ages before settling again. His naps during the day we cut short because of it as well. Past 3/4 days have been the worst.
I've tried changing food times to mornings so its not at dinner time over the past week or so and ive tried missing a day again but nothings helped.
Hes always been difficult with sleeping during the day but at night time i always knew id get my hours of sleep because hed only wake up once or twice but now i really am having trouble coping with it. He's on aptamil as was my nephew who is now nearly 2 but my sister does say he had the same problems.
Is it worth changing his milk at 6 months though?
Any tips help advice would be appreciated. He didnt have proper colic before and I was always told colic settles down at 4-6 months if babies have it so howcome gas with solids isnt something they mention. And if im not feeding him baby food everyday because of the gas then how do I start or how do I know he'll gain his weight properly from milk alone. Health visitor service haven't been helpful at all, I mean i know we just had a pandemic but some support would be appreciated so much. Everytime i call im told they cant really advise as hes past 4 months so its less likely to be just colic?!
