Removal of Complex Cyst, Ovaries and Hysterectomy

Has anyone had an operation to remove a large complex cyst (17cm), ovaries and then a Hysterectomy. If so how did you feel after and how long did it take you to fully recover?
I can't have keyhole it will be a cut from my belly button down.
I'm 52 and definitely need the op to remove the cyst and ovaries however, they are suggesting to also perform a full hysterectomy to save possible future problems.
Having done some research it appears there is a high chance after a hysterectomy of a prolapse vagina, just trying to understand how common issues are after such a major op and if I go with the recommendation or decline.
Really appreciate any info, thank you from a very confused and scared menopausal woman!

I had a bikini line hysterectomy at 45 ,due to a massive fibroid. I can honestly say it was the best day of my life.
I was off work for seven weeks but honestly only felt sore for 3 of those and the thought of never having to go through the pain and indignity of flooding and constant anemia kept me going
No prolapse but I kept my cervix, not sure if it makes a difference?

Thank you a positive result that's really good to hear, I'll ask the question about the cervix, a very good point thanks.

I had a 12.6kg complex cyst removed along with a radical hysterectomy and omentum removal through a midline cut.

I opted to have my cervix removed at the same time as if you need your cervix removed at a later date the operation is more difficult.

I had this 6 years ago and have had no problems or prolapse. I was in hospital for 4 nights and was pain free after two weeks and went back to work after 6 weeks.

Chalkywhite52 … how are you now? I’ve just been told I’ve got a complex cyst and need a full hysterectomy…. My head is spinning! I feel really well snd this has come as such a shock … had blood tests which showed I was anemic and they sent me for an ultrasound and now I find myself here …. Any help will be gratefully received … thank you
