Cold turkey with dummy

Going cold turkey today without the dummy on our just turned 2 year old dd as her teeth are starting to go funny so please don’t flame me for not letting her get rid of it on her own . Went for a nap in nursery with a bit of a struggle but she’s been crying for nearly one hour with us going in every ten minutes to try and settle her. Anyone else going through similar? Bit of a hand hold?

Good luck and stay strong. I made my dd go cold turkey, think we had 3 bad days/nights but then she got over it.

Have you tried preparing her by reading a book about a dummy fairy and then leaving her dummies for the fairy to collect? We did that with our little one and she was then excited to try to sleep without one.

Otherwise just stick it out by going in every 10 minutes as you’re doing. Good luck

Not going through this yet but our 13m old won’t sleep without one and I’m already anxious about giving it up.

I don’t know where to start but I know I want to start soon.

I’m sure it’ll be something that they just need to get used to, and they will.

I would love to know how the nursery managed to get her down for a nap. I already know she’s going to wake up in the middle of the night and we’re going to have to start all over again

After three hours of screaming she fell asleep and has went to nursery happy this morning with a teddy and the dummy hasn’t been mentioned
