Help, comforter solution needed!

My baby is not a very good sleeper in general, every time we move forward something happens and then we end up 2 steps behind.

Anyway, my baby has always tried to use my hair to comfort when I’m putting her to bed. (And only ever at this time) she will pull until she has 1 or 2 strands in her fingers and then tries to rub it on her mouth/ eat them.

We’ve tried quite a few things for her to use instead of this. For example, different types of dummies, teddies, muslin with knots in, taggies blanket, even things like my fluffy dressing gown rope thing and she just won’t take to anything. I just don’t know what else to try whilst also keeping it safe for her!

Did anyone have a similar problem and found something that their baby took too? Anyone have any suggestions? Would be greatly appreciated!

I have problems with my daughter pulling and pinching me while I am breastfeeding her so I got into a habit of putting a muslin in her hand every time she feeds to play with instead. It's taken a few months but now she has taken to them and picks them up herself, she is eleven months now. Maybe persistence is key?
