18m boy - first haircut

Help! We're planning on having my DH take our 18m LB for his first proper haircut next week. He's only had fringe trims before, but now it really needs sorting properly. But I don't know how to explain what I/we want! LB's hair is quite fine and swirls out from a v pronounced crown at the back. All I can say is 'shorter and a bit smarter'?! Is that enough? Or do I need to arm them with photos of what I've got in my head? I don't want him to look over styled, like some toddler haircuts you see online.

Thanks.

It's not a bad idea to take a picture as an idea of what you want

But prepare yourself, it probably won't end up anything like you imagine

He'll might be very wriggly and you might get exhausted distracting him.

Then again he might be wonderful and you'll end up with what you want

Also, after my DS had his first haircut around the same age, his hair changed, so be prepared that it might not remain fine and swirly Grin

Also, you might want to take something to keep a lock of his hair in, if you're into that kinda thing Grin
