Baby leaking at night..

Hi!

LO is 6 months old and is sleeping anywhere between 10-12 hours at night. She has a clean bum before her bedtime bottle but has started waking up in the morning wet, having leaked out of her nappy.
We have tried almost every different brand of nappies (currently using pampers baby dry) and also tried going up a size but neither has worked. She is completely fine during the day, we never have an issue with leaks or explosions.
Having to change her sheets every morning. She never wakes so can't be uncomfortable or cold but it's obviously not nice for her to be sitting in it!

Just wondering if anyone has any advice on what we can try!

Thanks in advance!

We had the same problem starting from a similar age. We switched to pull-ups overnight, I was sceptical but it worked.

You can buy wraps that they put over washable nappies that should work, I know it did for my DN at around the same age.

You can also buy washable booster pads which should help Smile

Change the nappy when you go to bed (just swap it, no wipes) and see if it wakes her up. Once mine were sleeping through the nught, they would also sleep through a nappy or pyjama change.

I’ve found Pampers Active Fit to be the best overnight. They make them with the Plus for extra absorption so DS has size 4+. My older DD always leaked overnight with pampers baby dry, I don’t rate them at all, but never with Active Fit so we’ve stuck to the same for DS and no leaks either.

Ozanj · 23/07/2021 18:16

Are you putting them on properly? In that do you pull them up over her belly button so the frilly bits come out & it’s nice and snug? Lol I have worked in nurseries for over 25 years and I only just figured it out - it’s massively reduced leaks both with DS and the kids I look after.

GlmPmum · 23/07/2021 18:21

Weve had same problem since my DS started sleeping through. Started putting him down in his normal Aldi nappy then around 10pm when we go up we change him into a pampers active fit. We don't wake him and don't wipe him and do it as quick as possible before he has a cheeky wee on us when the nappy is off. No problems since.

BertieBotts · 23/07/2021 18:25

You need to go up to the + size as they are no bigger but more absorbant.

If this doesn't help you can double nappy or do a midnight change if she won't wake up.

Tempusfudgeit · 23/07/2021 18:28

Double pull-up worked for us.

ArtfulScreamer · 23/07/2021 18:33

Go up a vest size we found nappies often leaked when vests were a snug fit.

miltonj · 23/07/2021 18:44

Pampers nappy pants have really helped us. Tricky to put on though Grin

omgthepain · 23/07/2021 19:21

My friend had this same problem and she used to put a pull up over the nappy overnight to catch anything. It's a shame to wake them up if they are fast asleep isn't it?

Topjoe19 · 23/07/2021 21:38

We use a pad meant for bladder weakness/incontinence as a nappy liner & it works really well!

PeigiSu · 23/07/2021 21:41

Second the comment about the vest - make sure it’s roomy so space for nappy to expand. And get the + nappy, same size, more absorbency e.g. 4+

mayblossominapril · 23/07/2021 21:44

I had this problem at various points, with DS I switched to Lidl nappies as they spread the wetness. With dd I put a size that just fitted on her first then a bigger size.as the first nappy over flowed the second absorbed it.

billiebeeme · 23/07/2021 21:49

Is she by any chance sleeping on her front? My little girl always rolls right on to her front I sometimes forget to pull to nappy up a bit more at front and she leaks through. Doesn't seem to bother her though 🙈

Pampers work really well on her at night time but with my eldest Aldi mamia nappies worked better for her (she was very chubby).

Lnix · 23/07/2021 21:56

@Topjoe19 so do we! Absolutely genius idea! Haven't had a leak since we started using them.

Russell19 · 23/07/2021 21:58

My little boy is 2 and I have this issue. I put a little lambs washable wrap ontop. Works well.

Opalfeet · 24/07/2021 00:24

Have you tried Sainsbury's? Now she's 6 months can you slowly reduce the bottle amount. Even by an ounce or two may help. We did have a bit of a leaking prob on and off and I'd have to wake up and do a change in the middle of the night, often I could do this withput waking him
