My 13 day old baby has a cold. First time mum here and this is a nightmare with worry. I've got a nasal suction I'm using, a humidifier going constantly and calpol saline drops but he still sounds nasally. He is taking his feeds well but it's just a bloody worry to say the least. Anyone with any experience with a newborn with a cold, he does the odd dry cough like his clearing his throat occasionally (I did have the whopping cough vaccine during pregnancy). He is formula fed.

Poor baby. Its such a worry i get that. I use and swear by calpol plug ins that you can get from any supermarket. Think they are cheaper at tesco. You may just need to check they are age appropriate. I also found raising my sons bed by an inch at the top kept him clear. Before bed I would take a very hot shower and have him in the room with me so he could sit in the steam. That really helped too. Hope that helps x

How long ago were you discharged from hospital? Have you spoken to the health visitor and/or maternity ward? Has he/she been checked since getting this 'cold'?

there is a chance of allergy.
