Baby eating less in this weather.

Anyone else has this problem? Since we have these hot days my 5 month old has really cut his formula intake.
Normally he would eat 120-150ml every 2h or so but these last couple days he can go hours without food and then take only 30-100ml each time and even then I have almost force him.
I tried to give him small amounts of boiled and cooled water but he doesn’t seem to be too interested.
Otherwise he’s perfectly fine, same as normal and despite of not eating wetting the nappies.
Just wanted to know if are some babies the same in this heat?

My DS was the same as you describe the last mini heatwave we had, when he was 5 months. He came out of it fine when the weather cooled down and started having more again.

I think also 5 months is a funny in between stage where they have growth spurts at 4 months and then again at 6 months (I think that's right off the top of my head!). DS was 6 months yesterday and despite the heat is having a good amount of milk amount during this heatwave, when I thought maybe the same would happen as last time.

I think keep offering it to him regularly and more frequently than normal perhaps to see if he takes any, just to keep up his hydration but I'm sure he will be absolutely fine. If you are concerned, i.e. he's not wetting many nappies anymore, see what your health visitor recommends Smile

Yes I am finding the exact same with my DS (nearly 5 months). He is formula fed and he too is eating less in this hot weather although probably only about 100mls a day less. Also seems to be napping more in the day (assuming its the heat) so nights he's been up more

My DD is also 5 months old and eating less too. I’ve found she seems to be ‘snacking’ instead of taking full bottles so just drinking a few ounces here and there.

My little girl is 6 months and exactly the same. It was a battle to get her to have 3oz this morning. She’s not a huge milk drink anyway, never has more than 5oz at a time but she’s decreased even more since the heat wave!
