Best breast pump?

Hi all, I wonder if anyone can advise. I currently have the Elvie breast pump and am getting very little milk! I really don't think I have issues with my milk supply as little one is putting on weight well etc etc. Can anyone advise a good pump that's gets more than a little milk out (doesn't need to be wireless!!)) thanks all xx

This thread is a little old now, but if you’ve landed here looking for an electric breast pump, we’ve recently updated our best breast pumps article with lots of great options, as tried and tested by Mumsnet users. We hope you find it useful. Flowers

I used an Ameda Lactaline which was good.

One tip I read recently was to put a baby sock over the bottle, if you're pumping directly into a bottle. Apparently it can stop you focussing on how much you are pumping and therefore you relax and often pump more.

I like medela. I got it as it had great reviews but it's the only one I've used

I hired mine direct from Medela. It was incredible, so quiet!

I've had a good experience with the Spectra S2 double pump. DS had a severe tongue tie so i exclusively pumped the first 6 weeks. It's quiet and powerful. Do make sure you get flanges that fit you well - it does make a difference to output and comfort.

Hire from medela - I bought a single medela pump and it was taking me too long to get enough as I could only do one breast at a time, with a double rental pump you don't have to buy it outright and it's so much quicker!

How old is baby?

I never really got on with pumps. I was able to breastfeed both babies but hardly got anything when I expressed. What you can express is no indication of supply.

I got on best with a Haakaa style pump.

I used the medela swing flex and had great results. This was the one the recovery ward at the hospital had so assumed it came midwife approved.

My babies extracted milk from me very efficiently but my attempts at pumping were disappointing at best even with the hospital pump.
