Accidentally sterilised teether

Hi Mumsnetters,

I need some advice, as I'm a first time mum and quite a newbie with some of these things.
I accidentally sterilised a water filled teether (it is BPA free and didn't melt or leak any water) in our MAM electric steriliser.

I'm worried about any fumes that may have impacted the bottles and dummies in the sanitiser. I've since washed all items and run through the steriliser again, I'm thinking this should be safe for baby to use?

Any advice would be super - feeling very daft this morning, as have had the teether for months! Confused

It'll be fine

Chill out. It will be fine

Thabks both, think the heat and lack of sleep does not help with critical thinking Grin

I used to put my baby's teether in a sterilised bowl covered in cling film to carry it from one side of the room to the other lest it should get covered in germs on the way across.

We all learn to chill eventually, but I remember those early days when it's hard to know if you're doing the right thing. If you've sterilised stuff it will be clean and ok for your baby.

I often did , even before bpa free!

It'll be fine.

I used to 'sterilise' my nipples with PFB, was a mess of stress. By the time PLB - precious last born - came along just checked with myself I'd had a shower sometime in the previous 24/36/48/72 hell, that week.

All of them - my precious' - are 30 somethings worrying about their own Precious'.

Ah, thanks for all your advice, makes me feel lots better! I vividly remember the packaging saying not to sterilise in heat, so freaked out it may be harmful for the baby!

Oh gosh, it's so good to hear others have also overthought things, these early days can be so stressful (I'm sure lack of sleep doesn't help) and questioning yourself constantly!
