Baby crying during bottle

Hi, my son will be 20 weeks on Wednesday and has been formula fed since day 2 or 3 due to a tongue tie that was preventing him from latching but the hospital wouldn't snip it (another story) anyway, since yesterday he has been screaming when taking his bottle and it's taking an hour for him to finish a bottle when it usually takes 15-20 minutes and is normally excited by the sight of the bottle but now seems non-plused. I've called my HV for some advice but she usually takes ages to get back to me and my doctors have a triage at 8am, which I have missed, so it's pointless calling them.

He has also been straining and turning red when this happens. He has been pooing regularly and has done since this straining began so unsure if it's related,

Do I need to escalate this?

Have you tried a faster teat? Could be frustration at the flow.

@Vicky1989x I have 6 months teats coming on Wednesday from boots. Should I go to get some today instead? He loves his milk so this is out of character. HV hasn't called me back, there's no GP at my doctors so I'm on hold to 111 atm

@Stef92 it’s worth a try! My DD was acting the same and when I changed teats she was much better. Took her a few feeds to adjust but was back to drinking normally!
