No tv in week?

My 4 year old loves/is addicted to the tv so much that we often have arguments when he has to switch it off. I also notice how creative he is when I do turn it off and that his behaviour improves.

I'm wondering whether to ban it in the week and then allow him a limited time at weekends. This way he won't be as dependent on it and hopefully will become a treat rather than an everyday habit.

Does anyone else do anything similar? Would love to hear? TIA

Sounds good to me. We had similar at that age, more relaxed later

We were screen free for years. Still screen free on weekdays. Except live sport. They stop asking for it after a point.

It seems the sensible thing to do. If his behaviour and creativity improve with no tv then have no tv

I would do it very gradually though rather than no
More in the week, cut it down week by week until there’s none in the week.

Loads to nothing will be a shock and seen as a punishment
