i'm about to advertise for a part time nanny (four days a week) and would welcome any advice/tips from people who've employed nannies before. anything particular to watch out for?
We live in a nice part of London where the going rate is about £80 a day.

Maybe not quite the answer you are after, but I once nannied and also helped find a replacement when I had to move on due to the hours dropping when Mum was made part time.

If it's any help, be specific with the job criteria. I always applied for posts that were clear about the role and responsibilities and hours of work, if its flexible hours say upfront. Mention characteristics you find desirable as well as maybe some characteristics of your family. Don't assume all nannies will have an upto date first aid certificate, I think this is worth a mention or at least if you interview someone without, really worth checking that they intend to update it soon!

sorry to keep this short.. DS is requiring some attention!
