Can any Duplo experts identify this piece?

Hi all,
I bought a batch of old Duplo for my DS and it came with 2 of these random orange pieces. Front left in the first photo.

The doors have an open slanted tunnel thing...any idea what it's supposed to be?

I know it doesn't have to be anything and DS' imagination will make it anything he wants etc etc but it's bugging me! He's asked me what it is and I've said a chute or a tunnel.

It actually reminds me of the underground bit where Jack first met Desmond or whatever his name was in Lost!

Can anyone suggest what it might be?

I'm not sure what set the piece is from but I think we have the same sofa!
