Holidaying abroad and pushchairs

We've booked a holiday abroad for next year and DS will be 4.5. He is quite tall for his age.
Previous abroad holidays we've taken the pushchair, it always came in handy for naps laid out in the shade, and loading the pushchair up with beach bags, buckets spades umbrellas etc.
We walk a lot on holiday a stroll along the beach from from our hotel and then back again, my question is would you take a pushchair in this situation regardless of how old your young child is or the fact they haven't used a pushchair at home for a long time?
I'm just thinking would it be better for him to have a sit in it if he was to get tired walking in the heat back to the hotel? Else we may be faced with a child who refuses to walk because he's hot and tired and then have to piggy back him back 😂
Thoughts?

I wouldn't take one for a 4.5 year old tbh.
If he gets tired stop off somewhere for a nice cold drink

I think I did piggyback my DS when he was about 4-6 if he got really tired, but it never really happened that often. I can remember a couple of times it did and that was generally after really long journeys, things like that.

I don't know, it's your call, but I wouldn't have thought it would be necessary. Do you walk a lot at home? I'd expect he will be able to cope with the kind of walking you're talking about, as if you walk regularly then he presumably comes too, if you don't walk regularly, you likely won't be walking that far just because you're on holiday.

Do 4 year old children even fit in toddler size buggies?
