Car seat help!

So I have just bought the AxKid Move ERF car seat for my 3 year old but once installed in the car ( Nissan Qashqai) the front seat has to be fully forward meaning no passenger can sit in the front? I checked the seat was suitable for my car before purchasing, so didn't think losing a seat would be apart of it being suitable.

Should I send it back and get a different seat?

Do you have the Axkid on recline or upright position and do you have it in extended leg room mode (hanging off the edge of seat) or compact mode (pushed up against backrest of back seat)?

Unfortunately the Quashqai is quite a small car in terms of cabin space, but these things are also common mistakes people make when installing! You probably don't need it reclined for a 3yo, and the leg room for the child is a nice to have rather than a necessity.

There aren't many smaller than the Axkid Move so I'm not sure you'd benefit from getting a different seat.

Thank you. I just watched a YouTube video on how to install and presumed this was the only way it could be installed? So I do have it to the edge of the seat and reclined. Am I now right in thinking it doesn't need to be to the edge of the seat because this is what is making the front seat not be able to move back and he certainly doesn't need the leg room it's giving at the moment. I'll attach a photo. I will take another look at instructions 😅 car seats give me a headache lol x

See this video from 20:12 onwards - she explains the different ways you can fit it to get more space :)

Passengers can fit in my juke with the seat all the way forward? I thought the qashquai was bigger?

LittleFox10 · 11/07/2021 11:18

Thank you! I have moved it back towards the back of the seat leaving him less leg room but kept reclined as didn't seem much leg room although ill try him in there and see how he fits. This has enabled me to move the front seat back a notch which is better and I can get in just. A small adult would fit with it fully forward but I'm a plus size and struggled. Luckily it isn't often all 4 of us are in the car.
Thank you for your help xx

You can flip the foot back under the seat to reduce the recline as well. And making the front passenger seat a smidge more reclined can give you space to move it back another notch or two as well.
