Finding the joy in parenting

We seem to have got into a really negative pattern in our house at the moment (children ages 5 and 7).

Dinner times are difficult because the kids argue over every little thing (who has the most juice/ what knife and fork they have etc).
After having good bedtimes for a long time they’ve suddenly started being very difficult with both coming downstairs constantly for the toilet or to get snacks…mainly just excuses to come down.

They fight constantly and just seem to hate being with each other.

I’m starting to really just hate being at home.

Has anyone managed to do anything in this kind of situation where they’ve turned things a round and helped restore some peace and a little more joy?!

I just fine I am constantly hating everything at home at the moment.

Can you introduce behaviour/ reward charts?

Actually we have used a kindness chart before that work so actually that’s a good idea. Something to reinstate.

Generally their behaviour is ok. It’s just with each other/arguments.

You could focus on the areas that you've mentioned in your original post and maybe add in a couple more if you feel it's appropriate.

Hopefully all settles down :)
