Dad tested positive for Covid - worried for 10 week old

My partner has tested positive for COVID, I had it back in March when I was pregnant. I am absolutely terrified of my 10 week old baby getting it and becoming really poorly.

Anyone else got stories of such a small baby getting Covid? Trying not to worry but can’t help it Blush

My partner caught covid last year when my dd was 9 weeks old - we didn't know he was positive until too late and we'd all been living together as normal! I tested negative, and dd was absolutely fine although partner was a little ill! Hope that helps Smile I'm sure you will all be okay x

My best friend tested positive while in the hospital having her baby. Her newborn had absolutely no symptoms and her 2 year old had some mild diarrhoea. From what I understand children seem to do very well with Covid!

My husband tested positive last year when our baby was 3 months old. We were the same and didn't know until it was almost too late and we had been living as normal.
When he had the positive test he was suddenly isolated in one room and we lived almost separately for a week. It was honestly one of the hardest weeks of my life, solely looking after a baby, cleaning all of the time and preparing meals for us both and being in self isolation myself. Thankfully baby and I were fine.
Try not to worry, but if it helps, maybe have a contingency plan 'just incase'.

Your baby will likely be immune since it got antibodies from you when you had it in pregnancy.

Hi I worried about this a great deal too when my daughter was born. However there was a study undertaken by the University of Oxford and Imperial College London last November which found that very few babies caught Covid, severe Covid in babies was very rare and in any case all the babies in the study recovered. I hope that is reassuring x x
