4 year old teeth issues

My 4 year old has awful teeth (like mine!). All still baby teeth but the bottom ones are very close together and not cross a bit. This means they're a nightmare to brush.

We brush twice a day and have tried various toothbrushes (electric and non electric) as well as kids floss afterwards. It doesn't matter what we do they still look awful and yellow all around the edges of his teeth.

We have cut down the sugar he eats and have stopped squash to drink. I'm dreading taking him to the dentist as it looks like we've not been looking after them!!

Any tips how to get them clean? Are there any toothbrushes that are better for little squashed together teeth?!!

I'd just take him to the Dentist, has he not been seen by one at all yet?

@BunnyRuddington Yes he goes every 6 months. The last time they said he had some tartar build up so we started the flossing on top of brushing, but it's not got any better. If anything it looks worse!

No advice sorry but I do feel for you. We have a genetic condition which makes the enamel mottled and they often look dirty.
