Loads of people send their kids to clubs like football, swimming ballet etc but I can’t see to find anything in my area? How do you find out about what clubs are available in your area? Sorry if it’s a silly question!

Ask on local parent Facebook groups or school WhatsApp groups.

How old is your child? Have you looked for a Facebook group? Googled football training York for children or whatever it is you are looking for? Asked other parents? How old is your child/den?

Normally hear through word of mouth - either via my children from other children, or from parents at pick-ups, play dates, parties etc…The girl guiding website and scouting website will have details of your nearest packs for brownies, cubs etc…and your local leisure centre will probably have details of clubs on their website.

The internet

Tried looking online can’t find anything. Thought there would be a website or something. I will ask on my local Facebook page.

I've just googled. We live rurally and the closest things are usually 20-30 minutes away, but there will be something. You may just need to travel a bit if you don't live in a town.

For swimming lessons have a look at the local swimming pool website. Football, does your area have any clubs (even if adult only?)- if so ask them and they'd help. Ballet- best bet is just to google.

It doesn't need to be a school group. Your local FB group will do.

Cubs and Brownies both have online registration. You put in your postcode and the closest groups come up.

Try the local Leisure centre too. Or ask your child what their mates do, and what s/he would like to do, then ask mates' parents
