✨Are you a parent/carer of a child with Selective Mutism, Autistic Spectrum Disorder or a typically developing child? We are conducting a new research study at the University of Hertfordshire and would value hearing about your experiences.✨
We are conducting a piece of research at the University of Hertfordshire, looking at Selective Mutism in children, and the nature of its comorbidity with Autistic Spectrum Disorder (ASD). We are looking for parents of children with Selective Mutism, including those with comorbid Autistic Spectrum disorder, to participate in this study through completing an online questionnaire. This should only take about 35 - 40 minutes and all data collected will be anonymised to keep your information confidential. We are also looking for parents of typically developing children to act as a control sample.
This research is important in identifying characteristics related to comorbid Selective Mutism and Autistic Spectrum disorder, as these children are often misdiagnosed and receive ineffective treatment due to the current lack of research.
So, if you’d like to participate in this study, please follow the link to the questionnaire.
