Quick dinner ideas - 1.5 year old

Hi all, three days a week my little one is at nursery and one day a week he is with family. He eats a good main meal in childcare and therefore only really needs a small / quick snack in the evenings as he’s often tired and I don’t like to keep him waiting too long after we get in from work etc. He’s not fussy at all.

Can I have some ideas please? Thanks

Mostly here for others' ideas, but DD almost always has a small bit of our dinner I save from the night before.

No extra thought or activity needed bar a whirl in the microwave.

Cheese/beans/egg on toast
Protein + salad in a wrap
Soup

  • Sandwiches/toasties
  • Various salads - these could be made the night before and kept in the fridge, same with sandwiches
  • Pasties/sausage rolls/quiches that you can eat cold or microwave to warm up
  • Eggs - boiled, scrambled, poached, fried...with toast and/or salad or baked beans etc
  • Frozen jacket potatoes with cheese and beans/spag hoops/cheese and salad
  • Beans/spag hoops on toast
  • Toddler ready meals that can be quickly microwaved
  • Tinned/premade soup with toast
  • Leftovers of a previous meal

To be honest my DD has rarely eaten any dinner at all since she was that age on her nursery days as she loads up at nursery and isnt hungry afterwards.

Hummus and veg to dip
Muffin pizzas (half a muffin toasted, tomato puree or passata, cheese and veg
Cous cous bites (if you Google there's instructions)

Pizza bread
Cheesy omlette (add whatever veg)

And if you can afford it my LO loves a wee M&S kids ready meal (only now and again though when the going gets tough!)
