Infacol doesn't work

Hello everyone,

My 3 week old baby has gas in her belly and every time she wakes up she screams like crazy trying to push it out! It also affects her sleep and mine.

Our health visitors suggested Infacol but it doesn't work at all. Have you got any suggestions? What has worked for you?
Any help much appreciated!

Dentinox worked for us!

Notsandwiches · 01/07/2021 16:15

Get a baby probiotic. Worked for mine.

Infacol can make reflux worse, so if you have any suspision that your baby has reflux or silent reflux, coming off it may actually help.

Dentinox!
Infacol was rubbish for all 3 of mine. Dentinox worked instantly!

THNG5 · 01/07/2021 16:21

Colief drops helped my second ds. He had bad colic /gas.

Cocomelons · 01/07/2021 16:24

Infacol never worked for us but dentinox worked wonders

Thehenbunringsock · 01/07/2021 16:24

Try gripe water?

pinklashes98 · 01/07/2021 16:26

Hiya, I was recommend colief drops on Mumsnet and its really helped my little boy. He will be 3 months in a few days and is much happier. I believe one of the ladies said if it does work you can also get in on prescription from the doctor as it is a bit expensive.

So sorry to hear that you're both struggling.

If she's screaming with wind, has she been checked for Tongue Tie?

Opinion4321 · 01/07/2021 16:33

Could it be reflux?

RebeccaCloud9 · 01/07/2021 16:59

Gripe water!

Justgettingbye · 01/07/2021 17:00

Agree with gripe water!

pumpkinpie01 · 01/07/2021 17:01

I found gripe water so much better

IncyWincy21 · 01/07/2021 17:02

Another for gripe water!

BunnyRuddington · 01/07/2021 17:03

And if you are bottle feeding, you can just add the Dentinox to the bottle Smile

Infacol is a placebo for patents to make them feel like they’re doing something (I know from experience). In our case the only thing that worked (after trying dentinox and gripe water) was time.

Infacol worked for mine so not sure this is true. Just because it didn't work for you doesn't mean it's a placebo.
MissMissTorrance · 01/07/2021 18:41

It didn't work for my ds. Gripe water didn't work either. Nothing did.

Backhills · 01/07/2021 18:43

Infacol didn't help us either. DS1 got instant relief from Gripe Water though.

Misty999 · 01/07/2021 18:51

Nothing worked for me and I tried them all infacol dentinox gripe water colief. I have very windy babies they do grow out of it though x

Tummy massage and bicycle legs

MuchTooTired · 01/07/2021 19:01

I used infacol, dentinox and gripe water in their bottles at the same time 😬

Didn’t work all the time, but did reduce it quite a bit. Other than that, tummy massage, bicycle legs and (weirdly) lying DS on his side and lifting his leg up towards his tummy - he’d had to have a hip scan just after he’d been born and he let out the most stinky loud and long fart ever!

Tummy massage and bicycle legs
This, every time.
