What do you do with your DC in the day?

Hi, I’m at home with my DC during the day and I feel like I don’t do enough with them. I have 2 DC that are 2 and under. We do arts and crafts, go for walks or picnics and sometimes go into town but I feel like I’m running out of ideas. What sort of stuff do you do with your DC?

Mine are older but at that age, I did similar as well as baby/toddler groups, visit the ducks or local farms, meet friends with their dc for a play/walk, library for books and sing time.

Oh thank you, we do go to a couple of baby and toddler groups but I hadn’t thought about going to library’s. DD will love that too

Yeah same kind of thing. But mostly try and steer DS who is 1 away from danger!!!

I love loads of the ideas five minute mum puts on Instagram - she also has a book.

Always get out somewhere in the morning. Also my DS loves messy play - something like oats on a tray with lots of things to scoop it up will hold his attention for ten minutes.

My dd2 is 2.5 so a bit older but we do the same things of you, plus chuck her out in the garden a lot, she waters the plants.

Midday bath
Give her a wet wipe and she helps clean the skirting boards
She goes on her scooter
We go to forest school sessions
Visit grandparents
Hoping to take her soft play again soon
Dance party
Magic painting
Stickerbooks
Reading
Cbeebies for my sanity
She does independent play

Thank you! I think I need to encourage more independent play. I just worry if I’m not entertaining them 100% of the time then I’m not doing it right
