Hello, my LO is 12 months and he just loves grabbing a toy car, sit on truck, pram, basically anything with wheels and will just keep pushing along the floor and pushing it round for ages! He loves to also throw stuff around the floor and follow it where he throws it! This can happen for about 20/30 mins before he gets bored! Will also grab balls and put them on a slope to see them roll down. Is this typical behaviour? I’m a FTM, so just a little unsure! Thank you.

Google schemas.
Absolutely normal.

Absolutely!
My LO is obsessed with anything with wheels and esp those that can move on their own.

Very typical behaviour!

Ok thank you, I’ve never heard of schemas. He has been doing it for about 2/3 months? Starting to slowly not do it as much as he used to, but can still be quite fixated.

Ok thank you! He has been doing it for about 2/3 months? Starting to slowly not do it as much as he used to, but can still be quite fixated! You obviously start going down bit of a rabbit hole when it comes to behaviours etc!

Longer than that. He's 2.5 and still loves stuff with wheels.

You do, totally. You've googled haven't you? 🙈
Whilst wheel spinning etc can be linked to autism he would have to have other traits for this, not just wheel spinning.
And even still, at 1 its far too young to look for flags.

Sounds just like my 13 month old. He's throwing EVERYTHING at the moment!

Oh and stay well away from Google when it comes to milestones/behaviours etc. You will always end up reading something that makes you anxious, most likely needlessly.

Mummy89x · 30/06/2021 13:10

I’ve definitely googled 😭 he doesn’t show any other traits really, he can’t really stand unassisted at the moment but can for short periods and unable to walk unaided, can be quite clingy at the moment and loves to be held. He did cry when we all sang happy birthday to him, but just unsure whether it was because he was still tired? He can stack a couple of blocks, gives us what’s in his hand when we say ta, babbles mama, dada, nana, uh-oh, grandad and his name, plays peekaboo with us, waves bye bye when we say wave, blows raspberries back at us when we do it to him, always nosey when people leave and enter the room, fetches us his ball and his monkey when we ask where they are but has only really just started clapping. I suffer from PNA & PND, so completely aware I may be overthinking it all!

He sounds absolutely fine op and a little joy!
Don't google anymore because the anxiety it causes is a lot!
Does your area do 1 year checks? If there is anything you are worried about and want reassurance give your HV a ring, that's what they are there for.
Otherwise he sounds like he's doing just fine Smile

Mummy89x · 30/06/2021 13:38

He had his 12 month review about a month ago now and she observed him and said he was doing well and nothing to worry about, I just forgot to mention about what I’ve mentioned! I just get myself in a flap and start going down rabbit holes! He recognises places as well which I think may be good? Thank you for this anyway ☺️
