reusable nappies for older children

Do they exist? Used disposables for my DS who is now 5. he wore them at night until about 3 months ago, when we started trying him without. after some success he's recently had a wet bed every night for weeks, and the changing and washing and disturbance is really awful. I'm loathe to put him back in disposables so wondered if there's anything available for an older child, which is washable but less nappy-like? thanks

You could try to use a motherease one-life nappy and their largest nappy cover. They fit fat toddlers, but I would imagine that by the age of five your DS has slimmed down a bit.

Your best bet though is to contact a website like www.nappymania.co.uk, who you can contact for advice.

try nappies by minki. They do a think called a minki yoyo which is a pull up you can pad to full nappy absorbency and they will make them in big sizes.

mother ease bedwetters will fit

but apparently take AGES to dry...

obviously, assuming just wet, wash through in machine with your normal clothes washing etc

I second minki yoyo we have used it on ds who liked the colours and the fact it pulled up and down. Like his pants. So much like his pants, in fact, that he appears to think it shouldn't be for weeing in. In fact he wees his pants more often...
It also drys quickly as is pocket nappy; we stuffed ours with a prefold.
hope helpful, i hate changing entire beds esp this time of year

thanks for all your advice and help everyone. I have ordered from the ERIC website a pair of what look like black boxer shorts - am planning to buy a t-shirt to match, so they'll be his "special" pyjamas. For a while there I thought there was nothing available, and was picturing myself on the next series of dragons' den
