Can someone please help? Im at the end of my tether
My 22 months old daughter has suddenly stopped eating for weeks now, probably has breakfast in the morning and refuses any other meal. Im so stressed out. All she wants to do is drink juice that’s it. At first I thought it was because she was getting her back teeth but they’ve all pierced through the gum now so can’t be that. She has this old t shirt since she was a baby as her comforter abs during periods of teething she’s chewed it and ragged it so now im worried that she’s swallowed peices of it and it’s stopping her eating.. or what if there is something really wrong. I’m so anxious!! We had Covid in November so what If she can’t taste anything since then because I cane taste myself! Why would a toddler just stop eating !

That’s a bit unusual. Is she having milk and are you giving her a multivitamin each day?

I’d try her with a dose of Calpol before her lunch tomorrow and if she still won’t eat, I’d take her to the GP on Monday and ask them to check her ears, throat and tummy, any one of which could be casing this.

It might also be worth taking your red book and asking them to record her weight and height, if she gets referred on, this will be a useful baseline to see if the reduced appetite is affecting her growth.

@BunnyRuddington thank you, no she's not having any milk. She was breast fed up until 13 months and then didn't want any other milk. She's not in any vitamins because she was eating well until this.

Ok, I’d start her with vitamins tomorrow. They should be on vitamins anyway at this age.

If she’s refused all milk, do you think she may have an allergy? Sometimes children with allergies can start to refuse foods because they don’t know which ones won’t hurt them.

What does she eat for breakfast, have you tried offering her the same food for lunch or dinner? My nephew survived on little more than weetabix at this age.
