Weaning off milk feeds - DD crying

Trying to wean 1 year old off milk feeds. She drinks cows milk but when I try to reduce amount in bottle she gets upset. Today she had a milk feed before her morning nap. I reduced the amount from 200ml to 160ml and she sobbed when she reached the end. She's having decent meals, eg for breakfast she had a breakfast muffin I made containing porridge oats, flaxseeds, banana etc, plus some yoghurt and berries. I'm concerned she still drinking way over what's recommended at 12 months.

Can anyone advise please?

The recommended amount is 1 pint- which is 630ml. But I doubt you'll face an issue with too much milk unless your DC is very, very overweight (like, off the chart overweight).

Why not change from bottle to beaker, but keep the milk?

How much is she having per day?

I went cold turkey on bottles - cup or nothing. She didn’t seem to mind, but she’d definitely have minded a smaller bottle!

Put her milk in a cup. She doesn’t need a bottle at that age.

Have you started giving her a snack mid morning and mid afternoon yet?

I’d introduce snacks if you haven’t already and let her have as much daytime milk as she wants but only from a cup. If she’s only just 1 and it’s an important part of the routine I’d let her have a bottle before bed for now but that would be it.
