Orange stains on baby clothes

NeedAHoliday123 · 24/06/2021 12:35

Can anyone please help me with getting those pesky orange stains out of my baby clothes?

My baby has formula, and spits up quite a lot, and over time after a few washes his tips and bibs seem to get a horrible orange stain on them which I just can't get out!

Anyone got any tips please? I don't want to throw them all away as I'd like to potentially reuse in the future.

Try putting them outside on a sunny day. It definitely works for tomato and poo stains.

Napisan.

Sunshine. Either inside on windowsill or outside on the line

Sunshine is always my go to stain remover!

Definitely the sun! I’ve only recently realised how magic it is!! If it’s bad leave it on the line a few days.

The sun! Ive only reaslised its magic cleaning powers since having a child.

Another vote for sunshine. I washed a vest which was so stained with tomato based baby food that it was not wearable. After an afternoon in the sun all the stains had disappeared

Napisan is the only thing I found that actually works (when you live in the NW and sunshine is in short supply!)

NeedAHoliday123 · 24/06/2021 16:38

Thanks all.

Looking at napisan to try - can you only use with whites though?

And do you soak or just put in the wash? (I see the box says both) but wondering which works better!

@NotPennysBoat @Fitforforty

Will also try the sunshine (if it ever returns!)

I used to soak it. I can’t remember if I used to put coloureds in it too. I was mainly used it for poo stains.

MrsMoastyToasty · 24/06/2021 16:40

Fairy liquid rubbed into the stain before it goes in the washing machine.

Thanks for the tips - I tried napisan and it worked a treat!

Will also try the sun if it ever returns!
