How much should baby be taking?

Im formula feeding, she is taking 50-60ml at a time roughly every 4 hours. Baby is 2 weeks old, she hasn't regained the weight she lost post birth yet. Which the health visitor says is concerning.
She falls asleep on bottle, and is a fairly sleepy child in general.
Any tips?

I would try waking to feed every three hours. I was told you need to do this with babies until they regain their birth weight. You need to time the 3 hours from the start of one feed to the start of the next. 4 hours is quite a long time for a new born to go between feeds.

DD2 was like this but bf. The midwife said not to cuddle the baby when she was asleep put to put her down in the Moses basket so she would wake up. Try stripping your baby down to vest or when feeding so she isn’t warm and cozy.

Our little one was very sleepy when feeding for the first few days, stripping off to vest worked as PP has suggested, also gently blowing in face & stroking lower jaw (where suck reflex is) helped, all were suggested to me by midwives in hospital

4hrs is a long time between feeds for 2 weeks old. Try to feed more often even if they take slightly less as eventually they'll increase amounts to match. If you're still concerned then speak to GP to check there's nothing else going on.

Mine were feeding every 90 mins to 2 hours at that age, breastfed so no idea how much. One 3-3.5 hour gap at night

Yes exhausting but they grow fast

4 hours is too long between feeds to then take less than 2oz. I would wake and try to feed more often

Thanks everyone, health visitor is coming round tomorrow, will try feeding every 3 hours.
