Hello,
So i split from my emotionally abusive partner 3 months ago and for the first time ever am claiming benefits - universal credit to support my childcare costs.. My little one is 2 years old so costs are quite high.
Problem is, is that my first payment was late back in may and this month not only have they not paid but they haven't responded to any messages on the portal and its been 2 weeks.
When he's 3, i won't need to rely on this money but it seems like they just don't care if they put people in a position where they have to give up work, rely on benefits and then struggle to get back into work costing the tax payer even more money.
Is this normal? I cant get through via phone. What do i do? The last thing i want to do is to give up work but with nursery being £900 per month for 4 days but if they simply dont pay what am i supposed to do?
