My son is near 8 months and hasn't done this yet but I can't wait until it happens Grin

In response to me leaning down with my arms out at about 9 months and spontaneously about 14 months. It is very adorable Smile

In the last few weeks.... she's 9 months.

I feel like my baby has been doing this for at least 2 months, could be longer??? and he's nearly 9 months

Ds started saying the word 'up' to be picked up before he started holding his arms up! In fact I think he's only really been raising his arms for a few months (he's 20 months) as saying it had the desired effect. I think he only does it now to add weight to his commands if we are ignoring the little dictator 😂

Mine has just started in the past couple of weeks and she’s 7 months

sqirrelfriends · 22/06/2021 20:53

Never, he's almost 3. Before he learnt to ask, he would just repeatedly say "uh, uh" until I got the message.

Crimblecrumble1990 · 22/06/2021 21:08

Ahh I couldn't wait for this either - I think it was around 10-12 months for mine.

I think Dd did this at 6m could that be right ?

MotherOfDragon20 · 22/06/2021 22:26

7.5 month old did has been doing it for a few weeks but only when I reach out to her and say “up?” or if someone is holding her who she would rather isn’t! Blush

Opalfeet · 22/06/2021 22:28

No idea really. It wasn't massively noticeable and it didn't happen very early, certainly not as early on here or when you read it on the milestones

DressingGown87 · 22/06/2021 22:43

Around 7 months. Like you I couldn’t wait for her to lift her arms out for me. Now she is constantly doing it, and gets upset and frustrated if I don’t pick her up. This is when I put her in the car seat, down for bed, if someone else is holding her, or if I’ve put her down and she doesn’t want to go.
