15 month old suddenly hates bathtime

Hi everyone,

My son has always LOVED bathtime .. but the last three nights he's become hysterical going into the water and just tries to stand up. He cried so much tonight that daddy couldn't do anything to calm him down. Eventually he calmed down with me.

Any ideas what's going on? Absolutely nothing has happened or changed for him and his routine. At a loss here ...

We had this. DD had a nightmare that she went down the plug hole (think she was about 2 so after much pressing she was able to tell us that). She had strip washes..then she agreed to go in in a collapsible basket (with holes in the side) so she felt safer. After a couple of weeks she didn’t need the basket any more. Hope you find a solution!

Can you just get in together for a bit? That usually did the trick for us.

My son did this around the same age! And has done one or twice again since. There was no rhyme or reason to it. Nothing changed, he just suddenly flat out refused to bath. He started to go in wearing his clothes after a few days and then I got some bath crayons which tempted him back in slowly. As with most baby related things, it seemed to just be a phase and then one day he just decided he liked the bath again! Good luck!
