Hello all, just wondering if it's ok to give Pyjamas as a 9th/10th birthday gift?

Do you know the exact size? I used to get so annoyed as a kid when gifted pj's that wouldn't fit.

9th maybe , 10th I'd say probably not.

Somebodyimportant1 · 18/06/2021 20:51

@toto23 I guess I can ask his mum for his height

I don't think they'd be excited by them. But it's a perfectly nice gift if they fit!

🤔 well, I would like to think one that lights up/ glows in the dark would be an exciting one for a 9 year old. Or I'm I wrong?🤷🏽‍♀️

When I was 9 the only thing on my Christmas list was a pair of pjs that I'd seen in m&s. I mean, I was a quirky child, but clearly kids like me exist! Still love a good pair of pyjamas...

Throw a sachet of hot chocolate in the gift bag, and you've given them an "experience gift" Grin

I think pjs are honestly fine unless that's going to be their only gift from anyone. (And if they're like me, actually even that would be ok...)

Nohomemadecandles · 18/06/2021 22:18

I'm 43 and I'd love new pj's but I don't think kids , especially boys get much excited by night clothes at that age. Unless they're particularly in to brands or characters.
They'll like them, I'm sure but not exciting, no.

If you want to gift pj's, I'm your girl! I love them!!

There's a new David Williams book out on Thursday, my dc would prefer that over pjs

What do you all the ink pleas? It's a child's 9th birthday and I have ordered a solar controlled Lego like construction on Amazon which I thought is good for a 9 year old because I know my 9 year old soon to be 10 years old would like it & I am sure it says 9+ on Amazon. Amazon delivered and it says 8+ on package but I am wondering if it's ok to give birthday child. It a pain to return things for me .

Most more advanced lego says 8+. Perfectly fine gift to give.

careerchangeperhaps · 31/07/2021 19:10

What does 'Lego-like' mean? Actual Lego - yes.
Fake Lego / Lego alternatives, not so much.

Somebodyimportant1 · 31/07/2021 19:37

@careerchangeperhaps is not fake is just a motorised solar powered build it yourself toy.

@careerchangeperhaps I said Lego like because you build this like ones build things with Lego or more live KiwiCo science things for kids.
