  1. Given ds a toy in the supermarket to keep him quiet (and put back on shelf before check-out!).
  1. Stopped tantrums with promises of 'bisbies' (Organix).
  1. Used disposable nappies (gave up on reusables at 6 weeks).
  1. Allowed ds to become addicted to something which I know I will have problems with later (bottle).
  1. Spent far too much money on toys.
  1. Driven round in car just to get ds to sleep.
  1. Given ds fishfingers, chips, chicken nuggets on a regular basis (but the fishfingers are M & S so hopefully that cancels out the others).
  1. Picked off cradle cap with my nails.
  1. Eaten regurgitated raisins.
  1. Said "Oh just give him anything he wants as long as it keeps him quiet!"

Please tell me I'm not the only one!

I started out with very low standards, I think because I'm an older mother and the years have made me a realist (others might say 'pesimist' ). I do remember when we changed car pre-ds my brother advised me to get leather seats because they can be wiped clean and I said "Oh, I won't be feeding my child in the car". How he laughed, and he was right, I do feed him in the car.

Bribing with sweets.
Saying you will do/eat/have it and like it.
McDonalds
Clothes from Supermarkets
Getting impatient when teaching DS letters
Allowing my children not to eat veg because I just can t stand the stress of it
Loads of TV

and the rest...

Wotzupnow · 22/11/2007 21:42

i am, however, very proud to have never yet ventured into a wacky warehouse, although the dcs are still only 3 and under 1 and there is still time.

Shout

Use confectionary as bribery

Suck dropped-on-floor dummy and give back to baby

Use TV as baby-sitter

Say "Because I said so"

I imagined that any child of mine would only ever eat fresh, nutritious, home prepared, healthy, delicious food. Ha! I bribed her into her carseat with a Polo earlier today, and I cheerfully give her biscuits when she won't eat her supper.

VeronicaMars · 25/11/2007 21:14

Co-sleeping, chocolate, play dough (hate it), soother and shock horror cheese strings!

NorthernLurker · 25/11/2007 21:15

Oh god I did one of the biggies this week. DD1 was moaning that something or other 'wasn't fair'.
I only turned round and said 'Life's not fair.'
I hated it when my Mum said that
I also did the spit on a hankie thing in the school playground recently. Even worse, I pretended to my friend that it was that morning's Marmite, when I knew quite well that it was the previous night;s ketchup that I was wiping off DD3's grubby chops.
