Toddler stool colour?! Unsure if medical issue?

Background is my son is 2 yrs 4mnths and fully weaned. His diet, however is terrible as he refuses all/any vegetables and fruit. I try to hide in pasta sauces etc with some success and always offer. He previously was much better when being spoon fed as a baby and would eat anything but has gradually been refusing more and more foods, even those which he previously ate. This all adds up to a pretty poor diet which I am devastated about and hope will improve with time.
My question though is, is it normal for toddler poo colour still to change so much in colour/texture even at this age?
Basically I am concerned as DS nappy has just contained a stool that was half solid half runny and completely dark green.
Apologies for the TMI but the stools often change daily and I am unsure whether to make go appointment.
He also is a bit chesty and wheezy at the moment (not COVID) but I am wondering if maybe he has a virus which is affecting this?
Any input gladly appreciated!!

My 20 month old had a chesty cough and dod a dark green poo just the other day! It had lots of mucous in which I guess he was coughing up and swallowing, could it be that? When I looked online it said green is in the normal spectrum of turd colours

Ah thank you! That sounds really similar to here! Yes, very sticky/mucus here aswell! I had a look at the stool charts (wondering what adds Google will throw my way after that search session) and thought the same, I just wondered when to start being concerned as he is fully weaned onto food and just assumed this would mean normalish poo, I guess thier digestive systems/ microbiom are still developing though.

Half solid and half runny along with his poor diet could be constipation with overflow. It’s worth speaking to your GP.

Thank you, I think I will contact as it's so variable, can't be healthy. He never expresses any discomfort when going and has atleast one a day but I am worried about when it comes to potty training as consistency is so unpredictable!

My toddler’s are wet and mustard yellow at the moment. He’s ill and I’m avoiding Google in case it’s something worrying Blush
