9 year age gap? Do i dont i

Im early thirties, i have an 8 year old. So age gap will be about 9 years.

I want another baby and want a sibling for dd but I'm sort of dreading the newborn stage. I love sleep so much and dd is so nice and easy now, very independent.

Any advice? Experience?

I have a 5 year age gap between my dc's and its definitely not a walk in the park. Hoping it gets easier, young baby stage is s* right now but powering through (hopefully) however they both love each other and the smiles my youngest gives his big brother and seeing them play makes it better too.
But it is your and dp's choice.

I have an 8 year age gap, my DD is now 10 and ds is obviously therefore now 2. I haven’t regretted it yet! Although everyone says it will be awful when she is older and she will hate her brother for holding us back as a family as they will want to do different things.

But so far it is truly wonderful, she adores her little brother and he absolutely loves her to have such a beautiful relationship, full of silly games. It has reawoken in my dd a huge amount of playfulness that I thought she had grown out of.

I’m quite prepared for the fact that it will get harder as she grows older and I fully expect to have to step in and ensure my ds doesn’t feel too left behind, by filling his life with play dates and activities.

For me the positives hugely outweigh the negatives, and having a newborn again has been a joy as i never really expected to have a second baby.

The age gap is really not a problem, I have a brother 7 years younger then me ,and my sister and I were 9 and 7 when he come along and we adored him we still do .. it's if you want another one and only you can answer that
