Does this rash on my newborn look familiar to anyone?

Hi, just to say I will be calling the GP tomorrow, just wanted to ask to see if anyone else’s baby has had this?

Rash appeared on my newborn (5 weeks) about 4 days ago. I assumed it was heat rash, it does seem to get worse with the heat or when she’s worked herself up fussing, but never clears up completely. She has been fussy since birth so I don’t think the rash has caused the fuss. She’s exclusively breastfed, gaining weight, sleeps decently, plenty of wet & dirty nappies, no fever or temperature.

Rash is all over her face, neck, and ears, & today has spread to her shoulders and chest. Will attach a photo if I can, but it looks like many many red raised bumps, no white heads. Thanks in advance!

@Wingingthis thanks for your response, does baby acne usually go onto shoulders & chest? Didn’t experience this with my first born x

Could it be eczema?

Looks like a sweat rash to me. My babies occasionally got it.

Ladyks3 · 14/06/2021 17:43

@KurtWilde thanks, do you remember how long it lasted & if it spread?

Looks exactly like the baby acne that both of mine had, mainly face and some neck, back and tops of arms. It lasted a good week or more with both, it didn’t bother them at all. Just looked icky!

@Ladyks3 DS got it quite often mainly on his face, neck and chest. It lasted a few days at a time.
