Need advice is it normal for 1 year old to babble loads one day then not at all the next worried mum

My son is 12 months old and has just started babbling 2 days ago he was babbling loads of new letters dadda nanana wawaw and last two days hasn't babbled at all is this normal?

Yeah it is. My son said dog twice as a first word. Wouldn’t bloody say it again for 6 months! They just go up and down in their progress.

Yes, I find they concentrate on different skills sporadically! This sounds very normal to me. I had a gap of a month where my LO gave up on babbling - admittedly at a younger age (4 months) and I was quite concerned at the time.

My DD also only started babbling just after her 1st birthday.. then she stopped for weeks! I couldn’t work out why then she started pulling herself up and cruising - the babbling started again just after. She was just concentrating on learning a new skill. Smile
