I have never heard of "welcome to the world parties"
Is it like a baby shower?

BuffyFanForever · 12/06/2021 17:26

Yes basically, as we didn’t do any of that due to Covid/ my illness they though it would be a fun idea to have a little bbq/ party with a “welcome to the world” theme. Just an excuse to celebrate really!

Have you had the babies yet? I really wouldn't have been up for a party within the first few weeks of giving birth.

Yes they are actually 4 months now, hence the wanting to have a nice excuse for a celebration after Covid and everything really so the babies can meet everyone 😊

Depending on who you're inviting could you do a pot luck and ask everyone to bring a dish? Or just go for a typical BBQ and get people to bring a bottle?
If it's in the day go afternoon tea so sandwiches in quarters and lots of small cakes from the supermarket

Decorations, have a look online for boy / girl whatever you have stuff or just bunting and balloons tired with ribbons?

I probably wouldn't go the games, but if you want something very everyone to bring a photo of them as a baby and do a quiz?

Congratulations

I bought lovely paperchase fabric bunting, multicoloured polka dot stuff about 15 years ago, I think for my 30th or something. I now have 2 dc and it has come out every special event in that entire period. So price per use seriously low. As your dc are so young I’d invest in decent generic decorations (or perhaps even make fabric bunting) and start the tradition of it being that you use every time.

I don't think you will need games or a theme.
Everyone will just be delighted to be out, to to meeting your DT

Congratulations Wine
