Hi all!

I was mid descaling of the steriliser, when we went for a walk. I'd put in the descaling crystals from Boots, and let it run. My plan was to finish the clean when we got home (finishing the clean just consists of emptying the water out, rinsing it with 200ml of water and then running a fresh, empty sterilising cycle). However, I completely forgot and the husband has put some bottles in and set them going to sterilise them without realising I was mid clean, so hasn't emptied the water out that had the crystals in (although the crystals had dissolved by now).

I've taken them out, washed them again in hot, soapy water and finished descaling the steriliser. Will the bottles still be OK now they've been washed and will be put on to sterilise again?

FTM who overthinks and worries about everything and don't want to poison my baby 🙈

Yes, the bottles will be fine as long as you wash them thoroughly and sterilise again take a breath and go have a cuppa!

I would've have worried about this too. But it should be fine once they've been soaked and washed then sterilised again.

Also, just a heads up those boots crystals wrecked my steriliser. So much so, TT replaced it. It tore the bottom of the base coating off! The review on boots people said the same.

White vinegar does the job much better and didn't wreck it!

Thank you! Did it really?! I've found them brilliant so far. I've read that white vinegar makes the steriliser smell of vinegar for ages? Which white vinegar do you use?

Stick them all through the dish washer and they will be fine

In future, use vinegar. It does the job and also harmless

I just use any white vinegar. It doesn't make it smell once everything has been cleaned off and had an empty sterile run Smile.
