Uppababy Cruz - car seat without ISOFIX base?!

Hi everyone!

We are expecting our first baby beginning of August and I would love the help of some more experienced parents. Smile

We have the Uppababy Cruz V2 and all we’re missing is a car seat. We live in London and don’t have a car, so it will only get used occasionally in rental cars or maybe an Uber. Because of this, I have been looking at seats that don’t need an ISOFIX base.
Any recommendations on baby car seats without a base that also connect to the Cruz? Or is this an impossible combination?!

Thank you!

We have the gold Cruz and used a besafe car seat.

A lot of car seats will be suitable for use with isofix base and can be belted in. They will tend to advertise isofix but if you read closely they can be belted in too. Most car seats adapts are suitable for maxi cosi and this tends to be used as the industry standard so most car seat brands make car seats which are suitable for maxi cosi adaptors.

Any basic maxi cosi infant carrier that can be installed with a seatbelt will work fine. The cabriofix is good value for money.

Most if not all infant carriers can be fitted using a seat belt as well as by Isofix. Maxi-Cosi are always a safe bet as they are compatible with lots of different pushchair brands.

Ah, this is so helpful, thank you all! I was looking at the Maxi Cosi CabrioFix actually, but they really make it look like you need the base. So good to know, I’ll have a closer read.

I have the Uppababy Pram. I use the maxi cosi pebble pro car seat. I do have an isofix base, but have used the car seat without and just seatbelts in. So it can do both. Just got the maxi cosi adapaters for the pram.
