I have a 12 week old, he has always slept in Moses basket at night no problem and we go to bed around 8pm. Last couple of weeks he's started randomly crying around 4/5am. I know he's not hungry because his feeds are like clockwork. He's not too hot or cold or filled his nappy etc but he just wakes up and lies there crying. So I tried putting him in bed with me for the odd hour or so when he'd gotten unsettled around 4/5am and I found he slept well, so it must have been the comfort he was after.
However, it's getting earlier and getting worse now!
Last night after his 8pm bottle, he fell asleep I put him down as usual around 8:45ish. He slept in the basket for around 30-40 mins then just started crying again. I tried rocking the basket and shhh'ing him, turned his projector lights on ceiling with the white noise on (as this has worked in the past) but nothing worked. I then put him in bed with me with the idea that I'd get him to sleep then transfer him to basket again. But he ended up sleeping for 5hours straight! Of
Course this was a decent stretch of sleep for me but I'm concerned.
I've ordered a compact cot which will come in a few days as this is bigger than the basket but my concern is the more he sleeps with me the less likely he will be to sleep in his cot.
This evening has been the same. Given him his bottle, he fell asleep then tried to put him down - started crying straight away. Picked him up and lay him next to me and he literally stopped crying immediately.
Does anyone have any tips ?? Or has this happened to anyone before?
I'm hoping the cot comes quickly so I can try him in his ASAP before he gets too used to my bed
