Travel cot recommendations

Hi all

Looking to buy a travel cot for my 8 month old that will last a while but is also comfortable for her to sleep in. I've seen some where the 'mattress' is so thin and rigid it hardly seems comfortable!

We'll be using it for trips away but also my baby will use it for naps once a week when her grandparents take her for a day when I go back to work

Thanks!

We have the babybjorn. It’s well made and comfy. The mattress on directly on the floor so has a higher weight limit than most.

Ds slept in it nearly 3 months this Jan-April due to building works and he slept exactly the same as in main cot.

Folds small as well so we often use as a quick pop up playpen in garden or house if I’m trying to get something done without his help that’s messy or dangerous.

In my experience all travel cot mattresses are a bit board like but it’s not safe to use a second mattress or topper and honestly baby is unlikely to mind. In my DD’s American daycare the kids all napped on what looked giant plastic trays with no mattress whatsoever and they all did their 2 hours after lunch. We have a Graco one that both my kids have used.

I’ve a nuno one dd 10 months always sleeps in and it has a great folding mechanism.

We've got a cuggl one from Argos - I think it was one of the bigger ones available as both of mine have been huge. We do have a separate travel mattress for it - it's wedged tightly in so it's not going to come loose and both of mine have been total princesses about sleeping on something comfy 🤦

I got a mamakids one for when this baby arrives, from amazon. Had a few other brand name ones too. They're all pretty firm but all our kids would sleep fine in them. You can get an additional mattress if you like, just make sure it's a snug fit and secure it with a sheet and sheet straps to the original base.
