Anyone had a toddler drop all naps at/before 21 months?

Just that really.

Her bedtime has crept back really late, around 9.30 or even later, which is what happened before she went down from 2 to 1. Doesn’t matter what I do and how early I start the routine.

Then yesterday, she only slept 20 mins and still went to bed at 8.45. Today she’s not going to sleep at all and she’s been awake 6:20. This has happened before occasionally, but often it’s seemed like she’s tired and resisting. Normally, by about 7 hours after waking she would be exhausted and crash. Today, she just doesn’t seem particularly tired.

She went from 2 to 1 at about 10.5 months, which was also way earlier than the books suggest.

Currently, on average shell sleep about 11.5 hours in a 24 hour period - longer naps mean less at night but it tends to even out, over the course of a few days if not within the day (I use an app to track)

All my ds dropped their naps fairly early - before 2. We went through a difficult time with the transition but in the end it actually made life easier.

Both mine dropped theirs at 18 months. One was a gradual process, probably down to me trying to enforce it due to being of with no. 2, but it didn't really work. The other went from reliably having a 3 hour nap to nothing overnight. That was a shock!

Mine stopped at about 21 months over the Christmas holidays. She would sleep 7pm-8am. Once I was back at work and she had to be up at 6.30, the nap came back most days. Now just over 2 and rarely naps, and when she does bedtime is a nightmare. Like yours, she seems to need a certain amount of sleep in 24 hours, either in 1 chunk or 2. Have to say, no nap makes days out easier!

Yes mine all dropped them before 18months & never napped again unless unwell.

My eldest never napped more than half an hour at a time. My youngest dropped all naps at 18 months.

Both slept through from 3 months. DS2 is now 6YO and I think I could count on one hand how many times he has woken at night since he was a baby.

My routine with the DC at that age meant we didn't have a bit of chill out time about 3/4pm before I went to work. So when DS2 didn't nap, he would sit on the sofa and relax for a bit. That kept him going evidently.

Dc1 dropped his at 14 months. He was a terrible sleeper from birth and naps were always difficult too. He would never go to bed before 9-9.30 and that involved driving or walks in the buggy to get him down. I would try and get him to have some downtime in the afternoon but that was hard. (Dc2 came along when he was 12 months old) He was very active too but just never tired. He is 6 now and sleeps 11-12 hours solid now goes to bed anytime between 7.30-9pm. Siblings were about 20 months.
